Burhan Öçal es uno de esos músicos únicos y excelentes que nos ofrece ese país riquísimo en interculturalidad que es Turquía. Percusionista, compositor y erudito en música turca y otomana, Öçal se atreve con todo, logrando fundir estilos hasta crear uno propio, fusionar culturas hasta llegar a ese punto en el que todos los colores, sexos y religiones son un todo completo y pleno Trakya Dance Party (2006), junto con sus amigos rumanos The Trakya All Stars y bajo la producción del músico y productor tunecino francés Smadj, "invites listeners curious about Roman cultura into a vibrant world of what life is like in the Thrace region of Turkey through the stories related in the text of the songs. “Karabiber” is the tale of a bride-to-be, while in “Kayınço” a man reproaches his perennially intoxicated brother-in-law. “Zigoş” features a Turkish man named Abidin an a Greek man named Gurgule who engage in verbal volley while fighting over the object of their mutual affection, a Turkish girl. The son “Opaz” illustrates the musical battles, sparring, and jamming that are characteristic of special occasions such as Roman weddings, while “Sülo” offers scenes from Roman daily life.
